How to Transfer Embroidery Files to Your Machine

Find the right embroidery design, confirm the machine format, and move only the file you need to your embroidery machine, USB drive, or supported software workflow.

A Simple Computer-to-Machine Workflow

  1. Organize your master library on the computer. Use previews and search so you know exactly which design you are selecting.
  2. Confirm the file format. PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, HUS and DST are common examples, but the format required depends on your machine and software.
  3. Check design size and hoop compatibility. Verify dimensions before transferring.
  4. Transfer only the project file you need. Depending on the machine, that may be through USB, machine software, network transfer, or another supported method.
  5. Verify before stitching. Converted, resized or edited files should be reviewed and test stitched when appropriate.

Organize First. Transfer Second.
